The co-founders of the defunct crypto mining firm HashFlare, Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin, who pleaded guilty to running a $577M crypto Ponzi scheme, were ordered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to leave the U.S. immediately, contradicting an earlier court order requiring them to remain in the country. The two Estonian men, both aged 40, admitted to the scheme in a Washington federal court and also to a second scheme involving a 2017 initial coin offering (ICO) for a digital bank project called Polybi.
